Show Notes:
Tom Martin sits down with the hosts to talk about his experiences as the Senior Marketing Development Manager for Cancer Treatment Centers of America’s Illinois campus.
Working with Cancer Fighters, an organized network sponsored by the Cancer Treatment Centers of America, of patients, caregivers and families, Tom helps to bring the cancer community together to support one another. He also acts as liaison to multiple cancer organizations across the United States that provide various types of support and brings those services to the patients. He also speaks candidly about how humbling it is to work with the cancer community: “Every day, I see people doing the unthinkable,” he says. “And just their undying willingness to help others when they need help is just incredible.”
The hosts also introduce “The DNA of Cancer”, a free resource that explains in layman’s terms how cancer care is evolving toward a more precise and personalized approach that targets mutations in the DNA of a patient’s tumor.
