Show Notes:

Nancy Laquintano has worked as a nurse navigator for cancer patients for more than 20 years, but when she journeyed through her own cancer—twice—it changed the way she practices nursing. “I feel that I can relate to my patients. I was there, where they are.”

She shares the key components that helped her through her two different cancers: her faith and the support of her family. “I turned to my faith…and had great support (as I took) one day at a time.”

Cancer taught her to embrace every day and live it to the fullest. It also challenged her to do the things on her bucket list—to live life. “I am going to Ireland. It is on the bucket list. And I intend to live every day there to the fullest.”

Quotes:

  • “She made a decision to not forget to live her best life and live every day to the fullest.”
  • “I see my patients go on with their journey, and that is inspirational.”
  • “Try to keep a positive attitude. Take each day as it comes and do not forget to live.”
