Show Notes:
Host Rev. Percy McCray welcomes Shirine Rutherford, a patient at Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), Chicago. Shirine, who was diagnosed in May 2018 with a rare form of neuroendocrine carcinoma, admits she was “angry and confused” after learning of her diagnosis while being alone and hospitalized for two weeks. “People should be able to express how they feel,” says Shirine, who discovered her voice and the power and freedom to be verbal about her journey with other cancer patients. “People are afraid to be looked at with a stigma for having cancer, [but] I’m a fighter!”
