Believe it or not, there may be a blessing in having cancer.
Show Notes:
Rev. Percy McCray navigates listeners through the prospect of how a cancer journey may provide perspective and insight that can be life changing for those in the trenches of treatment.
With his two decades of ministry to cancer patients, and being a cancer survivor himself, Rev. McCray challenges everyone not just to focus only on getting well physically, but to also be open to the possible expansion of new life purposes, activities, and goals perhaps once not considered prior to a cancer diagnosis.
“It will be difficult to kill a man who refuses to die, because he is motivated with renewed personal evaluation of self and purpose,” Rev. McCray says.
Listen and be challenged on how you may learn something new about yourself from a strange teacher.
Quotes:
- “[Despite cancer] What else can I do; what else can I be?”
- “Cancer can be a blessing.”
- “No one would volunteer [for cancer experiences], but what can be gleaned and gained from them because of perspective, is worth everything.”
