My up-close and personal conversation with physical therapist and prostate cancer patient Lee Baker was certainly insightful.
Baker, who received his diagnosis on Valentine’s Day, clearly recalls turning to his wife who was present with him in that moment with a feeling of “getting kicked in the gut,” he says.
“Rise up and let’s seize the day,” Lee recalls saying. “Let’s go out to eat like we had planned. And let’s enjoy our marriage.”
The overarching theme of this conversation explores the idea of making every day count while being on a cancer journey. Lee says today he strives “to seize each moment and realize that I have this gift of time and it’s limited and what am I going to do with it?”
